For more than 265 years, these letters — along with more than 100 others sent to French prisoners — were left unread. A picture shows one of the long-lost letters addressed to french sailors over 265 years ago. Almost 20,000 French sailors were captured by the British military to thwart France's effort to crew their state-of-the-art ships during the Seven Year War. In 1758, out of 60,137 French sailors, a third were detained in Britain, according to the press release.

ROME (Reuters) - Italy's top court ruled on Wednesday that the trial of four Egyptian security officials over the disappearance and murder of an Italian student could go ahead, despite concerns the defendants did not know they had been charged. Reviewing the issue, Italy's top court said in a statement that the legal code relating to this question was unconstitutional given the lack of cooperation from the suspects' home state, opening the way for the trial to resume. Giulio Regeni, a postgraduate student at Britain's Cambridge University, disappeared in Cairo in January 2016. Italian and Egyptian prosecutors investigated the case together, but the two sides later fell out and came to very different conclusions. Italy's legal system is notoriously slow and there was no immediate indication of when the trial might resume.

Two people who know Fu told CNN that they heard from common friends she had a child through surrogacy in the US, though they did not know who the father was. Fu stopped posting on her WeChat social media account in May after returning to China from the US in April, two sources close to Fu told CNN. Fu Xiaotian, 40, was the host of a flagship talk show on Hong Kong-based Chinese broadcaster Phoenix TV. Following Qin’s disappearance, Chinese social media users have scrutinized Fu’s posts on Weibo, a popular microblogging site, where she boasts more than a million followers. She last posted on Wechat, another Chinese social media app, on May 21, the two people who know Fu told CNN.

Astronomers can't directly look at the surface of the planet, called K2-18 b, but Webb analyzed its atmosphere for hints of what may lie below. That's a strong mark against the molecule's existence on K2-18 b. Confirming these findings requires a lot more observation of K2-18 b. As Blain put it: "K2-18 b is not exactly an Earth twin."
